Saturday, July 27, 2024, the 3rd Edition of "Salvando Vidas" Golf Tournament was held,
carried out by the Voluntariado Jesús con los niños, at Las Aromas Golf Course,
Santiago. This 3rd. edition like the previous ones, had the purpose of raising funds for the construction of the Hogar Jesús con los Niños, which will house temporary to hundreds of children who move from different parts of the country, to receive the medical treatments, at the Doctor Arturo Grullón Regional Children's Hospital.
In addition to the golfers, representatives of the sponsoring companies that supported the event, part of the team of volunteers who provide their services at VJCN and members of press and media were present at the opening ceremony.
The animation of the event was in charge of the presenter, actor, lecturer, author and collaborator of the VJCN, Francisco Vázquez, and the prayer was initiated by Mother Elida Padilla, from the Siervas de Jesús congregation.
The welcome greeting was given by Mrs. Jeannina Estévez, current director of VJCN programs and the central words were pronounced by Mrs. Carmen Germán, director of the Collections Department, who stated: here, in this field of golf, today we continue sowing the seeds of the future; a future in which no child have to face the challenges of the disease alone, and in which their families have the opportunity to receive the support and attention they deserve. After the central words were spoken, Mrs. Xenia Gell de Álvarez, president of the Administrative Council and founder of VJCN, announced that, in the month of November of this year, they will begin the construction of such dreamed and necessary Home and gave some details about the building.
The Honorary Putt was in charge of the renowned golfer Rafael De Marchena, accompanied by the girl Yraida Paulino, a patient in the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Unit of the Hospital.
This tournament had the participation of more than 100 outstanding golfers from Santiago and
different cities in the country. The winning couples in the different categories were: Denny
Ureña and Ramsés Peguero, first place gross in category A; José Clase and Elías Herrera,
first place gross in category B; Luis Rosario and Nicole Rosario, first gross place in
category C and Tadina Comprés and Miriam Herrera, first net place in the Ladies category.
